The New York Scooter Club’s mission is to help New York-area scooter owners and enthusiasts share information, socialize, and plan group scooter rides and other events.

First step in that process is getting to know each other!

Wait a sec... How does locking (and thereby consigning to the dustbin) the already amassed self-introductory material help things? Isn't this just chopping the information into pieces? Now I have to look in TWO places if I want to know who the hell Alan Gotlieb is. If I want to find some rider who signs on this weekend, I have to search TWO threads of introductions -- THREE if I'm trying to put a name with a bike.

That's exactly what "post creep" is: MULTIPLE threads on the same topic that prevent users from knowing which thread to look in. When you want something, you have to be able to know where to go for it.
