My first real scooter ride was Ch80 so it is very near and dear to me. I rode the shit off of one in Aruba for 7 days including the desert which was awesome. Tough scoot that goes forever!

Good to hear! I like it, and the fact it starts right up everytime.
f#&* the politics, just ride.

Hey all,

Robert from Suffolk County on the south shore. New to the scooter world, just picked up Honda SH150i. I got my permit and now just waiting on a road test. Hope to join on some rides as soon as I pass the road test.

Hey all!

Just bought a sweet, black 2009 LX150 Vespa. I'm from upstate NY, but got this to get around the city during my college time here. So excited to join the community!

Hello all, very nice forum, after lurking for a few weeks I've joined, and am looking forward to contributing.
I'm in Northern NJ - NW Bergen County I have been riding for over a year mostly locally but on weekends doing some long rides both west and north up into Greenwood Lake-Warwick NY, including Bear Mountain, 9W etc. and I'm looking for local area riders to join up with. Have not yet made it into NYC but plan to soon. My wife has just obtained her MC permit and is learning to ride. I have not found any local scooter friendly MSF courses local to NJ? Any ideas are welcome.

Hi Everyone!

Just got my first scooter, a 2009 Vespa GTS 250ie, about a month ago. Been riding motorcycles since the 4th grade (dirt & street). Last street bike was an '85 Yamaha Maxim X. Very happy to be back on two wheels.

I'm a freelance photographer and commute to NYC (now via scooter!) from Woodcliff Lake, NJ pretty much everyday.

I had the pleasure of meeting Heather, Herb, Alan, Rich, George, and Cassie (and hubby) last Wednesday at the Brass Monkey. Looking forward to meeting everyone else and joining a few rides. :-)

Hello,
I just started riding a scooter last week when I bought a silver Vespa GTS 250ie. I am really enjoying the freedom from the subway. Now wherever I go, getting there is half the fun. I think it's really going to open up the city to my wife and I. I live and work on the upper west side. Going on my first ride beyond 5 miles today. I am going to Greenpoint, and was wondering if anyone has an opinion on if either the Queensboro or the Williamsburg as being more scooter friendly than the other?

Welcome to the Forum from a Fellow Bergen county rider. Try to make it to Lu Cafe some time soon, there is always a good group of NJ and NY riders there on Thursdays.
You laugh because I'm different, I laugh because you are all the same.
